2017 USATF Association Newsletter - April

Update on USATF Officials Certification

Below is a communication recently sent to all Association Official Certification Chairs from Mike Armstrong, Chair of the NOC as a status update on the certification system. All questions regarding the system should be sent to officials@usatf.org

SafeSport: At this time, USATF has processed all SafeSport acknowledgement forms. If you sent SafeSport acknowledgement forms to USATF and verification is not appearing for your officials, please send copies of the forms to Mike and to whom you originally sent the forms to. Please remember that a list of officials is not sufficient for verification. As a requirement of the USOC, there must be an acknowledgement form signed by the official.

Background Screens: Some background screens are taking as long as five weeks to process. If you have officials whose screens are exceeding this timeframe, they need to call NCSI customer service at (800) 833-7100.

Membership Profile: Please inform your officials about their USATF Membership Profile. This is different than the previous Officials' Profile. Officials can select shirt sizes and upload pictures from their USATF Membership Profile. To access their USATF Membership Profile, officials need to enter their USATF Membership Number (not their Certification Number) and password. If they don't know their password, there is a help button on the site. In a future update, this site will also contain a link to their certification information.

Shirts: As many of you are aware, there continues to be a bug that changes shirt sizes entered by officials on their membership profile to women's XS. USATF is aware of this and is working on resolving the issue. You will be contacted as soon as the problem is fixed and are able to enter proper shirt sizes. The sizes entered on your Certification Chair site are reflected correctly and these shirts will be sent soon.
USATF Accreditation Update
All accreditation status emails were sent to Association Presidents and Secretaries. Any Association needing to complete a Plan for Improvement should work with the appropriate Accreditation Subcommittee and Regional Reps to submit by July 1, 2017.
