Donate to the World #1 Program Supporting Team USATF Athletes at the WMA Indoor Championships

USATF Masters Track & Field is seeking donations to support the World #1 Program. Designed to give Team USATF the best possible chance of success at WMA Championships, the World #1 Program was launched in December 2018 with $50,000 in donations - $25,000 from the National Office thanks to CEO Max Siegel and COO Renee Washington, and another $25,000 from an anonymous donor. Since that time an additional $20,000 has been raised with gifts ranging from $5 to $5000. To achieve our overall goal for Torun of $90,000, we need to raise an additional $20,000. Please consider reading more about the program here and making a donation today.

Atlanta Track Club Wins Team Title at MTF Indoor Championships; 23 World and 21 American Records Fall

The Atlanta Track Club took top honors at the USATF Masters Indoor Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the beginning of March. With 814 points they outpaced the defending Indoor team champions Potomac Valley Track Club (704 points) and TNT International (496 points) to claim the crown. The meet also saw the largest haul of world and American records in years, powered in part by the addition of 5-year age groups in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays (the rules were changed from 10-year age groups in those events beginning in January).
In addition to the relay records, new American Neringa Jakstiene (W55) set four world records (pentathlon, 60m hurdles, long jump, and triple jump) and an American record in the high jump. She was named USATF Athlete of the Week in recognition of her record spree. Irene Obera (W85) also was a multiple record setter with world records in the 400m and long jump and American records in the 60m and 200m. A full summary of the meet can be found here

USATF Masters 10 km Championships

The fourth event on the 2019 USATF Masters Grand Prix circuit is the USATF Masters 10 km Championships at Dedham, MA on Sunday, April 28, 2019 . This race, hosted by the James Joyce Ramble, is their seventh consecutive Masters National Championship. Unique for the presence of costumed actors reading from James Joyce's Ulysses along the race course, it has become a post-Boston Marathon spring tradition in New England. Great team rivalries, within and across the regions, play out. Although it is described as a 'rolling hills' course, three current American records have been set at this course, including one last year, when the first two runners in Men's 70-74 cracked the record. Come see if another will fall this year, and stay around to enjoy the food, liquid refreshments, Awards Ceremony, and live band!
