National Championship Application Dashboard Open

The Officials Application for 2020 USATF Track and Field championship meets is now available. Please navigate to to find the link to the application. The window for applying will remain open until midnight (Pacific) on Oct. 15.

ALL MASTER AND NATIONAL LEVEL OFFICIALS may apply for the four meets listed below. Competition officials for these meets will be chosen the USATF Selection Committee on Dec. 2-4, 2019. These meets are:

  • USATF Indoor Championship - February 14-15, 2020 - Albuquerque, NM
  • USATF Indoor Combined Event Championship - Date/Site TBD
  • USATF U20 Championship - June 12-14, 2020 - Miramar, FL
  • US Olympic Track & Field Trials - June 19-28, 2020 - Eugene, OR

CERTIFICATION CHAIRS will be notified when an application from an official in their association has been entered for these three meets and is ready for evaluation.

ALL OFFICIALS (including Apprentice and Association level) may also submit their interest in the following meets. Officials' information will be forward to the respective Officials Coordinators for these meets. Competition officials will be selected by those meets. They are:

  • USATF Hershey Youth Indoor Championships - TBA
  • USATF Masters Indoor Championships - March 13-15, 2020 - Baton Rouge, LA
  • USATF Masters Outdoor Championships - July 9-12, 2020 - Greensboro, NC
  • USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships - June 23-28, 2020 - Miramar, FL
  • USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships - July 27-August 2, 2020 - Jacksonville, FL

Congratulations 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

To the USATF Officials,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the 2019 officials who have been selected for induction into the National Officials Hall of Fame. The officials across the country truly appreciate all the hard work each of these individuals have done to make our sport great and to help their colleagues over the years.

The 2019 Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday evening, December 6, 2019 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. We invite you to join us in celebration of the National Officials Hall of Fame Banquet.

The following individuals will be inducted on that evening:

    Doug Allen
    Roger Burbage
    Carroll DeWeese
    John Shirey

In closing, allow me to add my personal congratulations to these individuals on their induction. This is an honor that is well deserved.

NCAA Rules Corner ~ Officiating Applications

The application process for officials to express interest in working any of the 2020 NCAA Track & Field Championships opened in late August. Information about the application, selection process and a link to the application portal can be found in the Officiating section of the NCAA Playing Rules Page. Any official that has applied in the last 2 years should have received an email on August 26th with your log in information. Any official that has not applied in the past 2 years should register as a new user. Questions can be directed to Nathan Smurdon, NCAA National Officials Assignor, at
