SafeSport and Background Check Updates

To complete a USATF background screen, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to USATF Connect using your email address and password.
   1. *Note: If you have one or more accounts linked to your USATF Connect profile, please select your personal account.
2. Click “View” on your profile card.
3. Select “Background Screening” in the menu to the left.
4. Click on the Officials screen marked as “Invalid” in the middle of the page.
5. Proceed through the form as prompted.
6. Once you’ve completed the form, click “Add & Checkout.”
7. Complete the checkout to purchase your background screen by clicking the blue “Checkout” button.
1. Click “Pay by card.”
2. Enter your email address, name, and postal address.
3. Enter your card details and click “Pay.”
4. Your payment will be processed.

 
Your information will be sent to USATF’s background screen provider (NCSI) and will remain in a “pending approval” state until it’s processed by NCSI.  You will be notified of the results and your USATF Connect profile will be updated accordingly.
 
 
To complete SafeSport training, please follow these steps:
 

1. Log in to USATF Connect using your email address and password.
   5. *Note: If you have one or more accounts linked to your USATF Connect profile, please select your personal account.
2. Click “View” on your profile card.
3. Select “Center for SafeSport Training” in the menu to the left.
4. Click on the blue “Add Center for SafeSport Training” button.
5. Here you will see the training course options. Select “Center for SafeSport Training” by clicking on the blue “add” button next to this training.
6. Once you have added the appropriate course, you will see a pop-up box with additional information to review. Click the “Add” button at the bottom of the screen.
7. Once you click “Add”, you will see a pop-up window with a link to click to begin the course.
8. Click the “Start Training” option in the pop-up window.
   1. You will enter the SafeSport training program where you will complete the training.
   2. The course(s) will remain in a “Pending Approval” status until you complete the training. You may start a course, stop, logout and come back to your account to complete at any time.  This video is available for those who need guidance on how to resume SafeSport training. 
   3. Once you complete the training you will be issued a PDF certificate.  Please save this certificate for your records.  Click the “X” button once you are finished.
