Palmer and Rogers Earn All-American Honors at National Junior Olympic Championships in Texas

Results
On Saturday (10-Dec), 41 athletes representing four (4) clubs from USATF North Carolina competed at the
USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships
in College Station, Texas. The event was held on the Texas A&M University Dale Watts Croups Country Course. A total of 2828 athletes and 226 teams from across the country competed in the championships.
Races were contested in 6 age divisions (8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18) for boys and girls. The top 25 finishers in each age division earned all-American status and the top 3 teams were presented with championship recognition.
The storylines of the day for the North Carolina athletes were the all-American honors earned by
Joshua Palmer
(Fit 180 Athletics) and
Emma Rogers
(unattached).
After finishing 162nd at last year's championships,
Joshua Palmer
finished seventh in the 11-12 Boys race to lead his team to a sixth place finish. He covered the 3 km course in 9:55 having passed three runners over the final 900m. The other scoring members for the Fit 180 Athletics team were:
Reagan Avery
(49th),
Camden Donlan
(87th),
Trevor Christensen
(120th), and
Patrick Riedinger
(138th).
In the 11-12 Girls race
Emma Rogers
finished 19th running 11:07 on the 3 km course.
In addition to the 11-12 Boys sixth place finish, Fit 180 Athletics teams finished 11th in the 13-14 Boys division and 20th in the 13-14 Girls division.

Next year's championship will be held in Lousiville, Kentucky on December 9.
