Nehnevaj and Aveni nab top finishes at USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque
Results
The
2023 USATF Indoor Championships
were held February 16-18 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fourteen athletes from USATF North Carolina competed in the championships.
Earning trips to the awards podium for their top three finishes were
Daniel Nehnevajm
(Beckley, WV; Raleigh Race Walkers) and
Brittany Aveni
(Durham, NC). Nehnevajm finished second in the men's 3000m Racewalk stopping the clock at
12:19.23. Avenis finished third in the women's 400m in a time of 52.67.
Picking up fourth place finishes were
Daniel Schaffer
(Blowing Rock, NC; ZAP Endurance) in the men's 3000m,
Cha'Mia Rothwell
(Raleigh, NC) in the 60m Hurdles,
Kristen Brown
(Greensboro, NC) in the Pole Vault and
Shaina Burns
(Charlotte, NC) in the Pentathlon.
