Clark, Isley, Simmons earn all-American honors at Junior Olympic championships in California
Results
On Sunday (31-Jul) the 2022 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships concluded in Sacramento, California. The championships were held on the campus of Sacramento State University.
4325 athletes competed during the sevens days of competition that began on Monday (25-Jul). USATF North Carolina was represented by 37 athletes who competed in 77 individual events and three relays. The Charlotte Flights were represented by 31 athletes.
North Carolinians turned in a total of three (3) all-American performances by way of finishing in the top eight in an event. Each all-American was presented with a championship medal, an all-American patch, and a coveted Junior Olympic all-American hat.

Matthew Clark
and
Devin Isley
each earned fourth place finishes in the 13-14 boys division. Clark ran 53.13 to finish fourth in the 400m while Isley picked up his fourth place finish in the 100m Hurdles running 14.78. Clark was also 12th in the 200m.
Christopher Simmons
(unattached) finished eighth in the 17-18 boys 2000m Steeplechase running 6:35.74.
Christian Seibert
(Charlotte Flights) finished ninth in the 17-18 boys Triple Jump 13.63m ) missing all-American honors by 3 inches.

Next year's championships will be held July 23-30 in Eugene, OR.
The
2022 USATF National Cross Country Championships
will be held December 10 in College Station, TX.
